Collection: Charlie Walter

Charlie picked up the brushes after retiring and putting away the microscope at Sheridan Memorial Hospital in 2000. At his wife’s encouraging, Charlie began painting with and under the tutelage of locally recognizable painter Alice Fuller. The two quickly became fast friends.

He paints out of his mind and achieves depth and perspective without following conventional color and contrast. Charlie uses bold and unpredictable color combinations to achieve surreal landscapes. Collectors appreciate Charlie’s work for his unique approach.

Charlie moved his wife, Barbara, and family to Sheridan in July 1971 to become the first pathologist at Sheridan Memorial Hospital after completing his internship and residency at Denver General Hospital. Charlie displays his work at Expressions Art Gallery & Framing, LLC in Sheridan, Wyoming.

Charlie’s personality is shown clearly in his paintings, to know him you just need to examine his paintings and see he doesn’t follow conventional rules, is brilliant, bold and full of colorful fun.
